KPJ Puteri Superheroes Fun Run 2018: Haziq's 1st Educity Run

"Walapun kau dah biasa berlari half marathon, tak bermakna kau boleh berlari sentiasa."
-Hasnol-

After what happened in this 5km event, this will be my new words of wisdom every time I want to stop training in the future. Haziq, in the least unexpected way have become my new running motivator. He's been doing all that without he realized, actually.

In the morning before the runners being released the sky scene was just like a leaf taken from a comic book. The menacing black cloud from afar and the gusty wind blowing was as though there will be a boss fight is coming up.

Luckily that even though it was raining heavily in the wee morning, the rain subsided just before we were all being released. Haziq had been very impatient from all the waiting. We had arrived at 7am, while the runners only being released at 8am.

"Abah, kenapa lambat sangat kita nak mula ni?"

His spirit doesn't abated even when we started running around the stadium for the 1st kilometer. What more, he became more spirited to go faster.

"Abah, cepatla. Haziq tak nak ada kat belakang ni!"

Here is some interesting fact about his abah. His abah didn't even run an inch started from the Ramadhan up until that day. It was altogether almost 60 days of non active life (plus the Raya weight) before this run, and oh boy it did really showed that day.

I was always playing catching up to Haziq all the way from the beginning to the end.

The 1st 2 kilometers was always the hardest. My thigh burns, my ankle tightened, and I struggled to breath all the time. I just wanted to quit.

But I can't with Haziq still zig zagging through the runner's crowd not knowing when to stop.

Every time I stopped for a walk, there he was running far in front oblivious that his abah can't really cope with his elastic superhuman child body. I just had to go on before he lost from my sight. It was a torturous 40 minutes.

At long last, I had to resort to some childish trick up in my sleeve when the stadium was already in our sight.

"Haziq, kita dah nak sampai dah ni. Orang tu cakap dah tak payah lari."

Only then I managed to keep up with him.

Is that a smirk I see on your face, Haziq?
