Legoland Malaysia: 5 Years On...

Legoland Malaysia is the first international theme park in Malaysia. When it was opened in 2012, it was a big hoopla in Malaysia. There was even some incidents caused by the large waves of people that went. It didn't just attracts fellow Malaysians, it also became the place to be for the Indonesians, Philippines, and Singaporeans.

Caught up with all the hype, we had a trip to Legoland back in 2013. Unfortunately, we found that unless you have a six or seven years old kids, the trip would be meaningless. Haziq can't joined most of the rides because of his height. And those are the best rides...

Back in 2013

Naturally, when Haziq got to the required height, I want to check it again this year.

We got some offer tickets by May and went with the whole cluster families - Dahlia, Haziq, Darwisyah, Darlina, Khairul, Fateh, Sumaiyah, Hadie, Sarah, and the grandparents.

The overall feelings are still there. At the same time, I could felt there are some changes here and there. It felt there are more shades than before. It is a great change because it was a blazing heat experience trip to Legoland.

2013 vs 2017

It is still a lot of heat, we can't escape the reality that we're still in Malaysia. But there are more places that we could escape from the heat, not just the Lego block paying room.

It is always a misconceptions about Legoland. It is not actually being operated by the the company that makes Lego blocks - Lego Group. It is actually being managed by the Merlin Group, a company based in UK.

Being an international theme park from Europe, there always have been an emphasized on the robustness of the attractions. But having the Lego theme park in a tropical country does took its toll.

Faded colors...

There are Lego builds that already showed their age with faded colors and the interrupted rides are some of the unintended results.

Train ride yang terganggu pada hari tersebut setelah menunggu lama...

Nevertheless, they are still evolving their attractions. The fact that we can't complete all the rides in one day proved that.

Ninjago - One of the newest attraction.

Getting the annual pass was the natural thing to do after that especially as Johoreans we can get special price for the tickets.

Having the annual pass giving me the flexibility to enjoy every rides there is in the theme park. We can just stop by in the evening only to get into some of the best rides.

In fact, that what I had done together with Haziq many times after that!!!

Haziq dan abahnya mempunyai tema yang jauh berbeza

Disclosure: You should still bring a kid aged 6 and above to enjoy the rides. Adults may enjoy them, but you'll look lame. With kids, you can blow off your steam and still keep your groove.

Legoland Malaysia are having their 5th year anniversary this year. Will they still be here to celebrate their 10th anniversary? Only time will tell.

But I sure know Haziq and Darwisyah will be there to enjoy them!
