HSI #RunForRespect2017: Haziq 1st Vertical Run
Exposing Haziq to the running circuit is a double edge sword. On one side, I’ll be having both of us getting fit. This ring truer as I’m using Haziq’s run to get myself in check and in shape. But the thing is, running with Haziq does tests my patience a lot.
Kids will always complained and usually
it’ll be the darnest things.
This Run for Respect organized by Hospital
Sultan Ismail is being dedicated to the OKU, with the objective of raising the
awareness of their plight.
Right from the start, Haziq does seem bored. The opening ceremony didn't interest him a bit with all the speech and the warming up session. I didn't blame him though. It was tough for him waking up early in the morning for the run.
The run did start on time, which is great. Unfortunately when the runners being start lining at the
start line, Haziq does the unexpected.
We were at the men’s room because he had to
do the no 2 business. Of all the time in the world….
We scrambled to the starting line when we
heard the releasing horn. And then Haziq does what Haziq does best…
I managed to drag him to continue running by playing run and
catch. At least, he react positively by not being left behind in back
of the pack.
This is an unique run. In whole my runs,
I’ve never experience any vertical runs. Since this whole purpose of this run
is for awareness, the organizer is having the vertical run going through one of
their blocks for us.
Ala, bukan lari 10km pun. Lari naik turun
10 tingkat saja….
“Abah, tunggu Haziq!!!!”
Playing run and catch with him at the
floors made him really mad. Panting down, we had our rests at the 6th
floor.
And the 7th floor….
And the 8th floor….
And the 9th floor…
Lutut kena mau kuat naik tangga ni.
Running down the stairs isn’t harder than
going up. In fact it was obviously easier going with the help of the gravity.
The problem was that we’re already spent all of our energy going up, going down
seems like we're going through the same thing again.
Before long, we arrived at the finishing
line. Altogether, it was just a 3km run. Doesn’t feels like that. By the looks
of Haziq have, it feels more like a 5km run.
For me this is a good initiative by the
hospital. Personally, for me the daily job and chores have successfully made my
days seems mundane.
The thing is, at least I still have my
legs.
