Chilling at Melaka Bayou Park Resort

Some self help article that I stumbled upon in the net suggests that we should take a refreshing break at the start of the new year. One article that I read even take it up a notch by 'terminating' himself from his job at the end of the year to start with a new refresh mindset at the start of the year.

Well, all that mumbo jumbo is so much easier said than done. Both myself and Dahlia have issues to take a long break holiday away from the work.

Until recently when the planets aligned themselves to create a small chance for both of us to take a breather for a family getaway....

To Melaka Bayou Park Resort!

We arrived at the resort in the evening and for dinner we went to the Pak Putra Restaurant. There are a new addition to the menu. Right now you can order the nan cheese with double or triple cheese fillings. Great!

One of my qualms sight seeing the Melaka (or Penang) is their UNESCO Heritage City status. There are too much tourist and the traffic are the worst. Went to the inner circle of tourist center at night suddenly opened up a whole new perspective about the place.

The first thing that we immediately noticed - there were none of the bustling tourist crowd. Score!

Menara Taming Sari at the back!

The last time that we walked at the pathway to the A Famosa was back in 2013. I awed at how Melaka had transformed itself beyond recognition during that time because the last time I'm there was waaaaay back in 1998.

Mahkota Parade which was the most significant building in the area back in 1998 is currently dwarfed by all the new modern buildings around it. How times flew by!

Walking at night during the weekdays at the ancient historical buildings brings out the best of the experience. Without the bustling crowds, we could easily took photos with the cannons in front of the A Famosa. The whole place belongs to us!

What are the kids looking at?

The only place that we didn't explore was the top of the hill. Unbeknownst to me that Dahlia have never been on top of the hill before. That for sure will be at the top of our list the next time we will be here.

Haziq already with his tired face

The next morning was kin a slow start. After the long day yesterday, I still didn't get the deep sleep that I would've preferred. But that is not the reason to try out the resort's water park.

Wakey wakey!

So the main burning question that need to be answered - does the Bayou Waterpark really good? Why does out of all the places for us to refresh ourselves, we chose this place?

The main reason we chose this place is because of its location that is near to the Melaka city. It'll be throwing two stones for one bird since we had the opportunity to experienced the city at night.

Or make that three stones? Since the waterpark is actually a part of the hotel - we could prevent all of the hassle of going to two places for fun and to rest.

The water slides are really fun. I mean really, really fun. Of all the slides that I had experienced, this is the only time that the water streams for the slides are actually fast to prevent anyone from stuck in the middle of the slide.

Ahhh!!!

Splash!!!

Whoosh!!!

I always stuck in the middle of the round a bout water slides all the time and me and Haziq had a blasting time with the water slides.

At the center of the waterpark is a facade that mimics the coliseum and by the looks of their website it is definitely the center piece that the hotel want to show.

Does we have a great time? Definitely, even though traveling with kids will be tiring no matter what.

At the end, does we had belated fresh start for 2016? By the tired smiling faces in the car while I'm driving alone back to Johor, we did.

And yes, I did drove alone again in the car on the way back - as usual!

Zzzzzzzzzzz.................
