Running in JB is always being a pride for me since I'm actually supporting my local running scene. Situated in the most south part of Malaysia didn't help with more than 70% of the running scene is actually happening in the central KL. For the three whole years I had been following the runs in KL religiously up until one time I had been in KL once/month.
That is why my face always lights up every time there is a running event in JB. JB 10K Run have come for its third annual event and I'm proud to report that for the third time's the charm for this event.
I had been joining this JB10K from the very first edition in 2012. When I joined it back then, I was still in my first year of running in these events, so understandably I was very excited. Together with me was two office colleagues. There was not more than 200 runners but all of us successfully finished the whole 10km and I had a great time.
The following year was still quite the same. Still not many runners joined this event. I'm also only being able to persuade my brother Rosman to join it together with me. This time though, I had the best running experience ever. Great route, exceptional organizer and the best was the kits for the run. I did hope that it'll come again in 2015 even though the number of runners was still low.

Best run in 2013 |

My only partner last year |
I was not disappointed. When I reached at the Padang Johor Bahru, I knew something was quite off than normal. I can't really parked my car at my usual parking spot which is very near to the field.
The revelation came when we lined up at the starting point. According to my estimation, there was not less than 500 runners in the event. Imagine how proud I am and how much the event have grew. The best is that this time around our group had grown to 5 people including Rosman.

One of the fast runners |
There was nothing that had changed much from the previous editions which is great. From the start of the run I have this feeling that I can't replicate my best 10k time thing time around. I had only run for the Singapore Standard Chartered Half Marathon the previous week and the legs still feels sour.

Apart of the exuberant properties nearby, nothing much changed to the route. |

Rose-man running along. |

Sponge bath!!! |
And another big disadvantage is that I had gained more weight.
But the exhilarating feeling upon touching the finishing line is still there. I was almost a wee bit to catch up on my best time 1 hour and 10 mins, but decidedly against it to safe my legs from any further damaged. But even with that I managed to finish it in 1 hour and 13 mins. And this time I could share it with the groups.

With the gang.... |
But it was not all happy news. Rosman was quite stranded behind the pack. It turns out that he had a cut due to his new running shoes. It seems that even the superhero Rose-man have his off day.

A flowery superhero..... |
Now... Can we look into the 4th edition in 2015?
