Week 11 of 2014
Last week in a nutshell:
Nothing is as hot as a topic as the missing MAS flight MH370 this week. This is the biggest challenge to Malaysian as a whole and to Najib's Malaysian government as a team. This will be the largest event for Malaysia for this year and for the years that coming by.
I was at the office on Saturday when I got wind of the disappearance. The event was such a shock that you'll probably will remember where you were and what you're doing when you first hear the news. Plane disaster is not something that never happened before, but since the plane in question is MAS - the realization is real. For me that had boarded some of MAS flight, the realization that it could happen to me is frightening.
This event also will test the mettle of us Malaysians as a nation. Unfortunately, some Malaysians are jackasses and beyond help. It is Lahad Datu all over again. Some of the comments are just f**king stupid when the authorities are notoriously trying to find the plane in the wide ocean.
There is also the loony Bomoh King that came to KLIA not once, but twice! The response in the net was unsurprisingly overwhelming. The worst part is, there is some quarters that actually believed him when he confessed that he actually had worked some some political leaders.
Haiyaa kawan...
His credibility is already being thrown out the window la man....
If you really want to believe whatever that he is telling now, you actually believed all the rest of his hocus pocus....
It is a proper, five-star, platinum-plus, Grade-A hypocrisy on your side sir....
It is at this moment that we could see who have what is takes to be a real leader. Dr M who had been retired more than a decade have more balls than all the politicians (government and opposition) in Malaysia combined. He sums it up quite nicely:
As I am writing this, it have been one week when the plane have been missing. I hope they will found it soon. The only thing that we could offer the families is a closure of the fate of the passengers of the flight.
Insya Allah....
Update: Another crucial information had changed the SAR operation into phase 2. It seems that the plane had been hijacked.
The smell is sickening to me who have the sinus problem. Orang kampung cakap resdung. The smell of the smoke always make my head spins with mildly severe nose blockage. On Thursday it was the worse. I had smelt the burning smell even when I was waking up early in the morning. It was not a great sleep at night by the way.

The Haze
The haze that enveloping Malaysia right now is sickening.
My first encounter was during my short trip for the training in KL two
weeks ago. Little did I expect that Pasir Gudang's air will be worse
when I came back several days later.
What is worse is
that the source of the haze is coming from our own backyard. It have
been more than one month since it was raining in Malaysia. In KL it was a
double threat as they also are having water shortage due to the
drought.
The haze have been worsen when the grass and
trees were burning due to man made or just because of the dry season.
Unfortunately for me, it is literally burning behind my backyard. Every
evening Pasir Gudang skyline will turn grey because of the haze. I found
that there are a burning spot near my house during one of my morning run.
After lunch it was beginning to become worse. Just forget doing some office work. Past three in the evening all of my lunch already out in the toilet. After gone back home, the rest of the breakfast joined the lunch when I puked in the toilet. I was literally lifeless after that.
Update: The weather does improved a lot after that. It had been raining in Pasir Gudang since Monday. Thank God, I have an ad-hoc run this weekend.
The Kid's Logic
For the past three weeks, Lia have been working part time. Because of that, I'm responsible to fetch Haziq from his kindergarten every evening.
Our routine for the last two weeks was to play in the nearby playground. He would play the slides, the swings and the rockers. At least he didn't put out a tantrum before we head out home.
The problem is when it was getting dark and we should be getting home. A kid his age never understand the logic of stop of playing in the park. Why should he stop playing? It's fun!
So I had to persuade him by pointing to the bigger kids playing football nearby and some of the small kids that already leaving the playground.
"Tengok tu. Semua abang-abang dah balik. Kawan-kawan Haziq pun dah balik. Hari dah gelap ni. Jom balik."
Incidentally by the time I went to picked him up, some new kids came playing at the playground. It was already almost 7pm. Kids in his age already develop some logic thinking in his mind. But the logic is still very basic:
He pointed to the kids:
"Tuuu.... kawan...."
I was totally blindsided, defeated by my own rule.
Another time that his logic thinking caught me was when I had parked our car at the apartment's parking. There were the neighbor's car sandwiched both sides of our car. Since I worried that he might fully open the door at his side & scratch the other car's door, I cautioned him:
"Haziq, jangan keluar dulu. Ada kereta kat sebelah tu. Tunggu abah."
His mind grinding out the logic:
I could even see his smug as he seen that at my side there was another car. In his logic, I'm also shouldn't open my door. He basically opened his door giggling but carefully....
He could make easy decisions without having his mind convoluted like an adult. Life is easy and simple.
I longed for that......
Logical test: If number of kids in playground > 0
Value if false = Go back home.....
Value if true = Continue play!!!
