Crash & Burn with Cheesy Ayer Hitam (a wee bit Batu Pahat)

It was a three days holiday this weekend because of Thaipusam last Friday. It would a travesty if we didn't do anything for the weekend. That's why Lia suggested that we to go somewhere nearby; Mersing, Tanjung Sedili & Kluang comes on top of the table. We ended up we Ayer Hitam. The theme that I'm later found out - Crash & Chessy.

I'm trying to do something different this year. Instead of over thinking too much, I'll let Lia to do most of the decision for our family traveling, or in this case a light leisure. She found some place that might be interesting for us to go & I would emphasize that might a big factor in our one-day leisure. Because we will do it 'terjah' way; hence the theme Crash.

Tropical Village Mini World Ayer Hitam.

The first place that we went was the Tropical Village Ayer Hitam. What would be greeting us is the miniature replicas of the famous structures & buildings in Malaysia & overseas. The location of the place is only about 5km & 10mins away from the Ayer Hitam exit. The exact location coordinate is N 1.898817, E103.207454.

The place is open from 9.00am to 6.30pm on weekdays & 8.30am to 7.00pm on Sundays & public holidays. There is a certain nominal fee to pay to get inside; for adults = RM12 & for kids = RM6. If you want to bring your car inside which I'm recommending since the place is large, there will be an additional RM5.

What greets us in the beginning is the Cartoon Land, where there are some cartoon characters & dinosaurs had been sculpted. This is basically meant for kids.

Haziq with his fav hero Ultraman (or whatever it is suppose to be)

The next one is a surprise for us since it was the Love Garden. This time it is meant for me & Lia. Luckily we have an amateur 4 years old photographer that could take the photos for us.

We walked through the places and we found some Pets Corner, the Adventure Mini Golf and also two ponies. In my opinion, the owner does have some grand idea for this attraction.

Believe it or not, but I had been attacked by this particular pony.
Haziq running for his life.

And off we go to the mini monuments of the world. It was on top of the hill, so we drove unto the top. We skipped the Malaysian monuments since Lia said:

"Semua biasa saja..."

which was actually true.

We started off from Hollywood.....

The Oscar statue
The Hollywood sign
Statue of Liberty
Eiffel tower

The sleeping Buddha of Thailand

When we reached the Taj Mahal, the amateur photographer 4 years old was in help again. Not a bad effort to make his parents looks lovey dovey.

And when it was the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Lia was showing how she supposed the tower should be supported....

Mine's better....

Haziq assisted though.

The longest was of course the Great Wall of China.

The last one was the Jeju Island with Haziq tried his best in impersonation.

What just happening?
In my opinion, if all of these attraction were built in the 80's, it would be a great hit. With the Pet Corner, Haunted House, the Cartoon Corner & with the main attraction - the monuments replica, the owner sure spent a lot of effort with the park. But the kids nowadays had seen even better things in life with the internet & video games and all. The park looked dilapidated & it feels sad. Plus cheesy - hence our second theme of the day boys & girls....

Regardless of our short trip to the park, it was a nice cold & windy day so we're off to our next destination.....

Claytan Factory.

....which is the Claytan Factory. But before that, we had our  lunch at the Ayer Hitam town since it was already afternoon.

The factory is nearby the Tropical Park. You will pass it by before getting to the Tropical Park. Claytan is a company that produced china products ranging from the table wares until the bathroom sinks. And they had been doing it since 1920.

I'm not really 'into' of china products, but there was a lot of the plates & mugs in the show room. The price was as low as RM1.50 for some wares. There were even some Singaporeans that came to the factory.

Window shopping heaven for Lia...
Muslim sensitivity recognized.

We bought some. Lia said it is a sushi plate set. It only cost us RM16. Is it a good bargain? I never really have to buy any china by myself. Most of the table wares were gifts. So I'm gonna just say I honestly don't know but as a guy I'm sure glad that we don't need to burn a hole in our pocket here.

Sushi plates?
Before we depart for our next destination, we stopped at the Ayer Hitam town. We bought 2 Upin & Ipin pillows for Haziq.

 And our last place is.....

Wet World Batu Pahat.

... the Wet World Batu Pahat. It was approximately 40km through the town roads. The coordinate for the place is N1.882422, E102.94614.

I suspected something was amiss when we reached the junction to the water park and there are no board in sight. As I have foind
