That Man Can Really Iron!!!
Went to see Iron Man 3 yesterday with Lia. I know... I know.... The movie already been out for almost a month. In this case I'm a late comers to the cinema to watch the movie.
Since I hate watching it alone because it will make me feels like loser, there are 3 arrangements that I need to make to watch any movies nowadays. 1st-I'm not busy on that day. 2nd-Lia is free as well. 3rd-someone to babysit Haziq while we both go to the cineplex, usually his Atok & Oma. Well, after a while planning to see the movie, yesterday was the only day that all the 3 set-ups have been fulfilled.
The movie was great, as expected. I expected nothing less from Marvel nowadays. After Iron Man 1&2, Captain America & The Avengers, it seems they really got the formula to do a great superhero movies compared to other production house (read Fantastic Four).
What I find the ironic with all the Iron Man movies is that ALL the villains would not exist if not because of the protagonist Tony Stark himself.
Let's see...
In Iron Man 1, the villain was the business partner of Howard Stark (Tony's father). He wouldn't have a hand of the technology to make the Iron Monger if Tony didn't built The Iron Man suit.
In Iron Man 2, the villain was someone who want to take revenge on the Stark family. In the last battle in the movie, the robots built by Vanko was based on Iron Man's technology.
In the new Iron Man 3, needless to say that the villain really hated Tony after he ditched him in 1999 & seeking for revenge. Even Tony acknowledged that he created the villain in the prologue of the movie.
In short, if Iron Man didn't exist the world would be a nicer place. Quite a paradox isn't it?
There is some parallelism between Iron Man & Batman. Both of the protagonist is from a rich background, respected by the community. Both are industrialist, building their own gadget. But that is where the similarities stops. Bruce Wayne's version of justice is too grim, taking the job too serious & always relates to the untimely death of his parents. Tony's version? Most of the men would be easier to relate to him. Taking the business not too serious, have a drop dead girlfriend & he even despise his own dad (as in Iron Man 2).
The movie currently is raking box office all over the world & I'm just surprised that there are some articles that asking whether there will be an Iron Man 4? Come on, of course there will be one!!! With the Hollywood writers have losing out ideas to come up with an original idea, coming up with a sequel will be a perfect choice. No money, no movie!
And this is Robert Downey Jr giving you the look.
(On of the highlights during the opening is the Tune Talk adds where Jason Low as the 'Iron Man' ironing the clothes. Hahahaha)
