Getting a New Running Gear

Recently when Iqbal had bought a new pair of Nike Free running shoes, I thought that maybe I also need a new running gear. Most of my reasoning is that after running through a series of running event, I find that there is a lingering pain feeling at my left knee & ankle. I even hesitated to run for a few weeks recently to avoid the pain to become a serious permanent thing.

Since then, I have been considering to get myself a new running shoes. My current one a a pair of Reebok that I had bought in May 2011. Even though I had worn the shoes for 2 years, from the outside it is still in good condition. But maybe the cushioning had deteriorated a little causing the pain in my feet.

Trusted Reebok

I have my eyes into some of the good running shoes in market such as Nike Free, Adidas Boost & Reebok Zigtech. But the reality with good running shoes is that they don't come cheap. Most of them in the range of RM300 to RM500 which can put a hole in my wallet.

So it came as a nice surprise when I saw a sale offer of Al Ikhsan in the newspaper. The shoes were Brooks Pure Connect & the price just fit nicely into my budget.

The next morning, I immediately went to Al Ikhsan Tebrau branch & ask about those shoes. Much to my disappointment, the shoes already sold out. The only Brooks shoes that on sale was Brooks Pure Rip which is a trail running shoes. The retail boy even showed me that he was wearing one. Patutla cepat habis... Dia dah beli dulu...

Not to be discouraged, I asked them to check the stock in the other branch.
"Yup, ada" says the boy after checking.
"Kat ner dik?"
"Kat branch Legoland. Ada kaler hijau je lagi"

After 'henshin' into the Running Man mode, I dragged my family into the car & start driving towards Legoland Medini - 20km from Tebrau.

But my effort was worth it. Not just I got myself a new gear, but I found out the stock of the shoes was still a lot. So I could choose my preferred size & colour.

"Kaler ape ek best umi?"
"Kaler hijau cam tak best, biru cam gelap sangat. Ambik merah je la"
"OK!"
Being colour blind as I am, I just follow Dahlia's advice.

Brooks merah

So there is it. I got myself a new running gear with a big discount of the colour of my choice.
