I would probably have several strokes by now. It's hard being an Arsenal fan right now. Even a match with a middle position team like Stoke will give you some winches & nightmares.
It doesn't seem to be like that some years ago. When I started to watch Arsenal back in 1997, there was Ian Wright & Dennis Bergkamp terrorizing the opponents.
Ian Wright - No 9. Not easy to the eyes but scored a lot. |
Dennis Bergkamp - The flying Dutchman. He's afraid to fly in a plane though. |
Then enter the golden era. This is when the 'Invincibles' came in 2003-04. Undefeated for 49 matches. At that time we got Henry.
Henry - 228 goals for Arsenal. |
After that it became spiraling downwards. The departure of Persie this season just a nail to the coffin.
Top scorer for Arsenal last season. Emulating the same for MU this season. |
After losing to Man City & Chelsea, there is no space for error. This match with Stoke was a must win. Stoke was not a team Arsenal had a good memory to begin with. Aaron Ramsey had his own share of nightmare with Stoke in 2010.
Broken & fracture to 6 pieces!!! |
But in this game, I could see there was some confident seeping in the team. They keep on attacking relentlessly even though Stoke players parked the bus literally inside the goal area and being rewarded in the 78' with a goal.
Ugly or not, it is still a goal & 3 points deserved. |
And there was also the altercation between Wilshere & Owen. Nice to see that there is still some Arsenal players that have some balls. Most of them had been too soft when faced harsh challenges from the opponent.
WTF Owen??!!! |
Lastly, that night I could sleep peacefully knowing that Chelsea lost & Everton draw in the same fixture. Huhuu....
